Okay, so Tetris Blast looks like regular Tetris at first—blocks fall, you rotate them, the usual. But then you notice some pieces have little bomb icons, and suddenly everything changes. Line up those bombs just right, and the whole screen erupts in this chain reaction of disappearing blocks. It’s weirdly satisfying to watch a single well-placed piece set off half the stack.
The Game Boy version somehow makes the explosions feel even more dramatic, probably because the screen shakes a tiny bit when they go off. At first, I kept playing it like normal Tetris and failing miserably—turns out, you gotta plan around the bombs instead of just clearing lines. Once it clicks, though, you’ll be setting up ridiculous combos just to see how much of the screen you can wipe out in one go.
It’s still Tetris at heart, but with just enough chaos to keep you on your toes. Perfect for short bursts or long sessions when you’re in that "one more try" mood.
