Tetris Party Deluxe takes the blocks you know and twists them—race your own ghost in Shadow mode, climb falling bricks in Field Climber, or try not to faceplant when the Balance Board’s involved.
Game Overview
If you thought Tetris couldn’t get any wilder, Tetris Party Deluxe for the DS begs to differ. Yeah, it’s got the classic Marathon mode—because you can’t call it Tetris without that—but then it throws in stuff like Field Climber (basically Tetris meets platforming) and Shadow mode, where you’re racing against a ghost copy of yourself. Weird? Kind of. Weirdly fun? Absolutely.
The multiplayer was a blast back when Nintendo Wi-Fi still worked—four-player battles got seriously competitive. The Wii version even let you use the Balance Board (because why not?) and the Wii Wheel for Stage Racer, which… honestly, I still don’t know how that was supposed to work, but it was a thing. And of course, Miis made everything slightly sillier.
It’s Tetris, but with enough extra modes to keep you from ever saying “just one more game” and actually meaning it.
