Play The Godfather: The Action Game Online
Dodge stray bullets in '40s New York, picking off rival gangsters without hitting civilians—clunky controls and all, it still nails that grimy mobster tension.

I remember playing The Godfather: The Action Game back in 1991, a release from U.S. Gold for MS-DOS. It was one of those licensed games that tried to capture the feel of the films, typical for the era when movie tie-ins were common. The game put you right into the gritty world of organized crime, though it didn't always live up to the source material.
You control a Corleone family soldier, moving through side-scrolling levels to eliminate rival gang members. The main objective is to complete missions by shooting enemies while avoiding innocent bystanders; hitting civilians costs you points or ends the level. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, limited ammunition management, and occasional driving sequences. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving due to stiff controls and precise timing requirements. It feels tense and rough around the edges, but there's a certain satisfaction in pulling off a clean hit without collateral damage.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
