Game Overview

The Great Battle III is one of those SNES games that makes you go, "Wait, how did I miss this?" It's a ridiculous, high-energy mashup where Ultraman punches robots, Kamen Rider dropkicks aliens, and Gundam just shoots everything—all in the same chaotic side-scroller. You switch between them mid-level, which keeps things from getting stale, and each hero handles completely differently. One minute you're platforming, the next you're in a shooter section blasting spaceships.

The pixel art pops with color, and the whole thing has this goofy, over-the-top energy—like the developers just threw every cool Japanese franchise into a blender. It's not deep, but the controls are snappy, and there's something weirdly satisfying about watching these characters who normally don't share a universe team up (or accidentally punch each other). If you've played River City Ransom and wished it had more laser beams, this is your jam.

Fair warning: It's pure '90s chaos, in the best way possible.
