Game Overview

The Great Battle IV is one of those SNES games that feels like it shouldn’t exist—in the best way possible. Bandai just went "what if we mashed up Gundam, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider into a side-scrolling beat-em-up?" and somehow made it work. You’re punching robots, firing lasers, and pulling off ridiculous super moves that take up half the screen. The first time I transformed into Ultraman and vaporized a whole squad of enemies, I actually laughed out loud.

This one’s faster and smoother than the earlier games, with a neat tag-team system where you can hot-swap characters mid-combo. Co-op’s a blast too—nothing like teaming up with a friend to absolutely wreck everything in your path. It’s pure, dumb, pixelated joy from start to finish.

If you’ve got a soft spot for 90s anime chaos or just love games that don’t take themselves too seriously, this is a hidden gem worth digging up.
