If you're into classic King of Fighters chaos, 2002's "dream match" is a wild one. No story, just 39 fighters (plus 5 hidden ones) duking it out, some faces you haven't seen since '98. The roster's stacked, though a few characters like Geese Howard are locked to PS2/Xbox versions (sorry, Dreamcast fans).
They scrapped the striker system from recent games and went back to basics: three-man teams and that slick '97/'98 Advanced system. Feels more raw, like the old days, just pick your trio and start throwing fireballs. First match in, I got wrecked by someone spamming Iori's moves, so maybe practice a little first.
It's pure, unfiltered Neo Geo fighting at its best.
