Ever played one of those old MS-DOS games that somehow sticks with you despite its simplicity? Tom and the Ghost is exactly that—a tiny, spooky platformer where you’re just a kid trying not to get spooked (or worse) by a prankster ghost in a creaky mansion. No fancy power-ups, no elaborate cutscenes—just you, some sneaky traps, and this floating jerk who loves popping out when you least expect it.

The controls are basic—run, jump, maybe lob a rock if you find the slingshot—but the tension’s real. One wrong move near a trapdoor or a poorly timed jump over a pit, and you’re back to the last checkpoint. The ghost’s laugh still haunts me a little, honestly. It’s got that janky-but-endearing early ’90s vibe, like someone mashed up a Saturday morning cartoon with a slightly unfair arcade game.

Not gonna lie, the first time I played, I died like six times in the first hallway. But there’s something weirdly satisfying about finally nailing a tricky section or outsmarting the ghost by luring him into a trap. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
