Touch the Dead came out in 2007 for the Nintendo DS, developed by Dream On Studio. It was part of that wave of early touchscreen experiments, a game built entirely around the hardware's gimmick. You don't use the buttons at all; the whole experience happens on the lower screen with the stylus.

You control a survivor trapped in a zombie-infested prison, tapping directly on the shambling enemies to shoot them. The main goal is simply to survive each wave, clearing rooms of the undead to progress. Key mechanics include frantic headshot tapping for instant kills, dragging the stylus to the edge of the screen to reload your weapon, and managing your limited ammo as more creatures close in. The pacing is relentless and the difficulty spikes quickly, especially when multiple zombies approach from different angles. It feels like a tense, chaotic test of your speed and precision under pressure.
