Game Overview

Okay, so Uchuu Nin Tanaka Tarou de RPG Tsukuru GB2 is basically the weirdest little Game Boy Color RPG you’ve never heard of—unless you were digging through Japanese import shops in the late '90s. You play as Tanaka Tarou, this space ninja guy (because why not?), and the whole gimmick is that you get to slap together your own RPG adventure using these delightfully janky tools.

At first, it feels like playing with digital LEGO—you pick locations, throw in enemies (my personal favorite was a sentient rice ball with a sword), and write ridiculous dialogue. The charm is in how unpolished it all is. One minute you’re fighting a boss in a neon spaceship, the next you’re in a feudal Japanese village arguing with a samurai who’s actually a disguised alien. It’s got that same offbeat humor as EarthBound, but with way more room to go completely off the rails.

If you’re into retro RPGs with personality or just love games that don’t care about being "normal," this one’s a blast. Just don’t expect anything sleek—it’s all pixelated chaos, and that’s the point.
