You played as a detective for the ACME detective agency, tasked with tracking down Carmen Sandiego's thieves as they stole national landmarks and fled across the country.

You control your agent through a simple text and graphic interface, moving from city to city by selecting travel options like plane or car. Your main objective is to gather clues about the thief's appearance and destination by questioning witnesses in each location, then issue a warrant before time runs out. Signature mechanics include using a digital almanac to verify facts (like state birds or capitals) and piecing together vague hints such as "wearing something plaid" or "heading to a state with a great lake." The pacing is tense; the clock is always counting down, and wrong guesses cost precious hours.
