Game Overview

I first played Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? (Deluxe) back in the early 90s, when it came out as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Brøderbund. It was one of those games that felt genuinely smart, a detective adventure that made you think about geography and culture instead of just reflexes. The graphics were simple, but the scope felt huge for its time.

You play as a rookie detective for the ACME agency, tracking Carmen's henchmen across real world locations. The gameplay involves interviewing witnesses, examining clues, and flying between cities to make arrests before time runs out. You use a digital world almanac to look up facts and confirm suspicions, piecing together where to go next. The pacing is tense but thoughtful; mistakes cost you precious hours. It feels like being part of a globe-trotting mystery that actually teaches you something along the way.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
