Game Overview

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego Enhanced came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Broderbund Software. It was one of those titles that felt right at home on a beige desktop tower, mixing education and adventure in a way that didn’t talk down to you. The game built on the original’s globe-trotting premise but added richer graphics and sound, giving it a bit more personality on the platform.

You play as a rookie ACME detective tasked with tracking down Carmen’s henchmen as they steal cultural artifacts around the world. Gameplay involves interviewing witnesses, studying your suspect database, and hopping between cities via a world map interface. You cross-reference flight durations, local time zones, and physical clues to pinpoint your next destination before the thief gets away. The pacing is deliberate; rushing leads to dead ends, while careful deduction pays off. It feels like a race against the clock where your own focus determines whether you catch the crook or watch them slip through your fingers.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
