Wilderness: A Survival Adventure came out in 1986 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Titan Computer Products. It was one of those early PC titles that tried to simulate a harsh, open world when most games were still about shooting aliens or jumping on platforms. You don't get much hand-holding here; it's just you and a lot of trees.

You control a lone survivor dropped into a vast wilderness with the goal of staying alive long enough to be rescued. The game plays out screen by screen as you explore forests, hunt for food, and gather materials to build tools and shelter. Key mechanics include managing hunger and thirst, fending off wildlife with whatever weapons you can craft, and navigating without a map. It's deliberately slow and punishing; one wrong move can mean starvation or a fatal encounter. Playing it feels like a constant, tense negotiation with an indifferent world.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
