Game Overview

Wizardry III picks up where the first two left off, but with a twist—your old party’s descendants are now the ones braving the dungeon. Or, well, volcano this time. Instead of descending into darkness, you’re climbing through molten rock and quaking tunnels to find a dragon that might save Llylgamyn from total destruction.

Same classic dungeon-crawling as before, but alignment actually matters now. Good, evil, or neutral—each opens (or locks) different paths. I tried running an all-neutral party once, thinking I’d outsmart the system, but good luck surviving without a healer. You’ll end up grinding extra characters just to cover your bases, which honestly adds to the grind but also makes every decision feel weightier.

Oh, and if you didn’t import characters from the first two games? Tough luck. This isn’t a friendly starting point—it’s a direct sequel in every sense. The pixelated hellscape is as brutal as ever, but that’s Wizardry for you. Either you love the pain or you don’t.
