Game Overview

Wrecking Crew is one of those weird early Mario games where he’s not jumping on Goombas—instead, he’s smashing buildings with a hammer. You’ve got to knock down ladders, blow up bombs, and wreck specific blocks in the right order while dodging fireballs and this angry foreman named Spike (who totally looks like Wario’s rough draft).

The levels loop around, so if you take too long, enemies just keep respawning. And yeah, Luigi’s here too, but for some reason he’s wearing purple instead of green. The arcade version lets two players go at it, but good luck finding that cabinet these days. It’s way more puzzle than platformer, and honestly, figuring out the demolition order is half the fun.

Just don’t get too attached to any strategy—Spike loves ruining your plans.
