Game Overview

Vs. Wrecking Crew is one of those arcade games that looks simple at first—you're just smashing buildings with a hammer—but then suddenly you're sweating over whether to take out the left pillar first or risk dodging enemies to get to the top floor. The controls are straightforward (jump, swing, panic), but the later levels get surprisingly tactical about which walls to wreck and when.

It’s got that classic NES-era charm, right down to the little construction worker sprites and the way everything collapses in satisfying chunks. I kept getting ambushed by those fireball enemies at first, but once you learn their patterns, it feels great to outmaneuver them mid-demolition. Definitely more of a thinker than your average smash-em-up.

If you miss the days of arcade cabinets and quarter-munching difficulty, this one’s a solid time capsule.
