WWF WrestleMania came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed by Rare and published by LJN. It was one of the earlier wrestling games on the platform, arriving at a time when arcade-style sports titles were common, and it tried to capture the over-the-top energy of the WWF at the time.

You control one of several WWF wrestlers, moving from screen to screen in a side-view ring, and your main goal is to beat your opponent by pinning them or making them submit. The game uses a grappling system where you lock up with your opponent and then try to execute moves like body slams or dropkicks; there are also signature taunts that can actually damage your opponent if timed right. Matches are fast and a bit clunky, with stiff controls that take some getting used to, but landing a big finisher like the Sharpshooter feels satisfying in a rough, nostalgic way.
