Game Overview

ABC Wide World of Sports Boxing is one of those MS-DOS games that somehow sticks with you—probably because it’s so simple and weirdly satisfying. You pick your boxer (I always went for the underdog with the ridiculous shorts), and then it’s just you, a pixelated opponent, and the sound of gloves smacking faces. The controls are basic—jab, hook, block—but timing matters way more than you’d think.

What I love is how raw it feels. There’s no fancy footwork or stamina meters, just two dudes swinging until someone hits the canvas. The digitized groans when you land a solid uppercut never get old, and the referee’s frantic count after a knockdown is pure 90s charm. It’s not deep, but it’s the kind of game you’ll keep booting up just to squeeze in one more match. If you miss when games didn’t overcomplicate things, this one’s still a knockout.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
