Game Overview

African Adventure is one of those MS-DOS games that somehow sticks with you—like the pixelated version of an old adventure paperback you’d find in a dusty attic. You start off in this bright, blocky savanna, and suddenly you’re hopping between screens, figuring out how to get past a grumpy hippo or which path leads to the next clue. It’s got that perfect balance of "why is this so hard?" and "ohhh, that’s how you do it!" moments.

The controls are dead simple—just arrow keys and a couple of actions—but don’t let that fool you. One wrong move, and you’re getting chased by a lion or falling into a pit. It’s got that classic 90s vibe where the challenge feels fair, even when you fail. And the art? Charming in that low-res way, like someone sketched an entire jungle with 16 colors and made it weirdly immersive.

If you’ve ever lost hours to King’s Quest or Monkey Island, this is like their scrappy little cousin—same spirit, just condensed into bite-sized, palm-sweaty chunks. Definitely fire up DOSBox for this one.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
