Alf came out on the Sega Master System in 1989, a time when licensed games were everywhere. Sega published it, and it was one of those titles you'd rent hoping it captured the show's humor. You play as the alien life form from the sitcom, trying to gather parts for his spaceship so he can finally go home.

You control ALF directly, moving him through suburban backyards and other locations screen by screen. The main goal is to search trash cans for scooter pieces while avoiding government agents and other hazards. You dig through garbage, jump over obstacles, and sometimes use a slingshot. The pacing is slow, the platforming is stiff, and the difficulty spikes with some frustrating jumps. It feels like a chore, a slow hunt through clunky levels where every mistake costs you.
