Game Overview

Alien Cabal is one of those old-school MS-DOS shooters that somehow makes pixelated aliens feel genuinely threatening. You start with just a pistol, creeping through dim corridors, and suddenly—boom—some weird floating creature lunges at you from a side passage. The controls take a minute to get used to (especially aiming up and down), but once you grab the shotgun, things get satisfyingly chaotic.

The levels are these tight, maze-like spaces where you’re constantly backtracking to find keycards or hitting switches to unlock doors. There’s something oddly tense about hearing alien screeches echo around corners while you’re low on ammo. And the grenades? Absolute lifesavers when you’re swarmed, though half the time I’d blow myself up by accident.

What I love is how it grades you at the end of each level—like some merciless drill sergeant judging your alien-killing efficiency. Missed a secret room? Should’ve checked behind that fake wall. It’s brutal, but in that way that makes you want to replay it immediately. If you’ve got a soft spot for janky, fast-paced retro shooters, this one’s a blast.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
