Game Overview

Alien Cabal came out in 1997 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by QASoft. It was one of those late-era DOS shooters that tried to push the aging platform a little further, with a focus on dark, claustrophobic environments and a steady drip of tension. You don't hear much about it now, but at the time it offered a specific kind of moody, close-quarters action that felt distinct from the bigger names.

You play as a lone marine sent into an infested research outpost, clearing room after room of alien threats. The game progresses screen by screen; each new area could hide ambushes or lurking monsters. You use a small arsenal, including a pistol, shotgun, and grenades, though ammo is scarce and friendly fire from explosives is a real danger. The pacing is deliberate, almost cautious; you learn to check corners and listen for skittering sounds. It feels like a tense, methodical crawl where every shot matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
