Alien Rampage came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Inner Circle Creations. It was one of those side-scrolling action games that felt right at home in an era dominated by pixelated shooters and platformers, not trying to reinvent the wheel but offering a solid dose of sci-fi carnage.

You control a hulking alien mutant, ripping through soldiers with a mix of claw swipes and projectile weapons. The goal is straightforward: fight your way through military bases, clearing each screen of enemies before moving to the next. Movement has a floaty, weighty feel to it, especially the jumps, which take some getting used to. Combat is fast and messy, with enemies swarming in from all sides, and the difficulty can spike without much warning. Despite the occasional frustration, there's a raw, tactile satisfaction in tearing through levels once you find your rhythm.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
