Game Overview

Back To The Future 2 & 3 on NES is one of those licensed games that feels like it was made in a hurry. You jump between movie scenes—Biff’s casino, the clock tower—but the controls are stiff, and the hit detection is rough. The first level throws you right into 2015 Hill Valley, dodging hoverboard kids and random obstacles that seem to come out of nowhere.

It’s not all bad, though. The music nails the movie’s vibe, and seeing pixelated versions of iconic moments is kinda charming. But the gameplay itself? Mostly frustrating platforming with awkward mechanics. You’ll spend more time wrestling with the controls than feeling like Marty McFly.

If you’re a die-hard fan of the movies, Back To The Future 2 & 3 might be worth a quick look for nostalgia. Otherwise, it’s a rough ride even by NES standards.
