Battle of the Eras is a 1990 MS-DOS release from a smaller developer, though the publisher's name escapes me now. It belongs to that era of experimental, sprite-heavy action games that tried to do a lot with limited color palettes and chunky graphics. The premise is a straightforward clash of historical and futuristic warriors, all tossed into the same digital arena.

You pick a fighter from a roster that includes a samurai, a cowboy, a knight, and a robot, each with a unique weapon and special move. The goal is to defeat every opponent across a series of one-on-one duels. The combat relies on quick reflexes; you need to time your attacks, parries, and dodges carefully because the AI does not wait around. Matches are fast and often decided in just a few hits, which keeps the tension high. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
