Battletoads & Double Dragon on SNES is one of those weird crossovers that shouldn’t work but totally does. You’ve got the Battletoads’ ridiculous, over-the-top combat—like turning into a giant foot to stomp enemies—paired with the Double Dragon brothers’ classic street brawling. It’s chaotic, it’s loud, and somehow, it all clicks.

The first level throws you right into the action: smashing through goons, dodging cheap shots, and figuring out which character feels best (I always go for Rash—no regrets). Then suddenly, you’re on a speeder bike or fighting in zero gravity, because of course this game doesn’t stick to one gimmick. The difficulty spikes hard in spots (classic Battletoads), but grabbing a friend for co-op turns it into a hilarious mess of elbows, dropkicks, and yelling at the screen.

If you grew up with either franchise, this is pure nostalgia with extra fists. Even if you didn’t, it’s just a great, weird brawler that doesn’t take itself seriously. Just maybe keep a spare controller handy for when you rage-quit.
