Game Overview

Bio Menace 2: The Hidden Lab came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup from Apogee Software. It was the second episode in a trilogy of side-scrolling action games that felt right at home on the platform, a time when shareware titles often delivered more personality than their big-budget counterparts. You played as Snake Logan, a tough special operative dropped into a mutant-infested underground lab, and the whole thing had that gritty, slightly absurd charm typical of the era.

You control Snake through maze-like levels, shooting mutants with an arsenal that grows as you collect better weapons like the spread gun or flamethrower. The goal is to find keycards, avoid instant-death traps like spikes and crushers, and eventually reach the exit alive. Movement is screen by screen, with secret areas often hidden behind breakable walls or accessed through careful jumps. The pacing is fast and unforgiving; enemies respawn if you backtrack, and health pickups are scarce enough to make every hit count. It feels tense and scrappy, like you're barely staying ahead of the chaos.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
