Play BioHazard - Deadly Silence (Japan) Online

Creep through the mansion with your map always visible, solving puzzles while zombies close in—now with a weird stylus knife minigame. Those tank controls still feel janky, but the groans from the DS speakers? Chilling.

Game Overview

I picked up BioHazard: Deadly Silence on the Nintendo DS back in 2006, a Capcom release that brought the original PlayStation survival horror experience to a handheld. It was a strange but welcome fit for the dual-screen era, a time when developers were still figuring out how to use the touchscreen for more than just gimmicks.

You control one of the S.T.A.R.S. members, either Chris or Jill, exploring a sinister mansion room by room. The main objective is to uncover the secrets of the estate and survive the viral outbreak, which means solving environmental puzzles, managing extremely limited inventory, and conserving ammo for the inevitable shambling horrors. Signature mechanics include the constant, strategic use of the map on the lower screen and a new "Rebirth Mode" that introduces touch-based knife fights and puzzles exclusive to this version. The pacing is deliberately slow, and the fixed camera angles combined with the classic tank controls make every corner a potential threat. It feels like a tense, methodical struggle for every inch of progress.
