Game Overview

Buck Rogers: Matrix Cubed came out in 1992 from Strategic Simulations, Inc. for MS-DOS. It was part of that wave of early 90s PC games that tried to blend science fiction with deep, tactical role-playing systems. You didn't get flashy cutscenes; you got a lot of reading and strategic planning, which was pretty standard for the time.

You control a squad of characters, moving them across grid-based maps in turn-based combat. Your main goal is to complete missions, which usually involve eliminating enemies or securing objectives. The game uses a detailed character system with skills and equipment, and combat relies on dice rolls behind the scenes for hits and damage. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be punishing if you're not careful with positioning and resource management. It feels like solving a dangerous, methodical puzzle with lasers and plasma rifles.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
