Game Overview

Cat Trax is this weirdly charming little Atari 2600 game where you're a cat just trying to eat your kibble in peace—except three very determined dogs won't leave you alone. The maze looks simple, but those mutts corner you fast if you're not careful.

Every now and then, a green potion pops up, and grabbing it turns you into this tiny dogcatcher truck. Best feeling ever—suddenly you're the one chasing them, shoving them into the pound at the top of the screen. They don't stay there forever, though. Eventually they bust out, and the chase is back on.

There's also catnip floating around for bonus points, which feels like the game throwing you a bone (or, well, a treat). It's janky in that classic Atari way, but there's something about outsmarting those dogs that keeps me coming back. Just don't get too comfortable—one wrong turn and you're down a life.
