Cat Trax came out for the Atari 2600 in 1983, published by Amiga. It was one of those maze games that felt familiar if you'd played others on the system, but it had its own little twist. You controlled a cat, and the goal was straightforward: collect all the kibble in the maze while avoiding enemy dogs.

You move your cat through a single screen maze, picking up pieces of kibble one by one. The dogs patrol the corridors, and if they touch you, you lose a life. Sometimes a special item, like a fish or catnip, appears; grabbing it temporarily turns the dogs into mice and lets you chase them for extra points. The pacing is quick, and the dogs get faster as you clear screens. It feels tense but satisfying when you outmaneuver them and clean the maze.
