Game Overview

Ever tried feng shui, but wished it involved more dungeon crawling and monster fights? Chaos Seed - Fuusui Kairoki is this weird little SNES game where you play as a geomancer shaping labyrinths by juggling wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. At first it feels like arranging furniture in The Sims, but then you realize moving a "water" room next to a "fire" one makes steam that heals your party—or accidentally summons a demon if you mess up the balance.

The pixel art’s got that cozy 16-bit vibe, and the strategy goes deeper than you’d expect. One minute you’re carefully placing torches to boost your luck, the next you’re laughing as enemies trip over cursed floor tiles you designed. It’s janky in that endearing retro way, and there’s nothing else quite like it—even now. Fair warning: once you start obsessing over room layouts, time just vanishes.
