Game Overview

Choose an Enemy was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a compilation that bundled various titles from the platform's early years. The game itself was developed and published by a small studio whose name hasn't lingered in mainstream memory, fitting snugly into that era of straightforward, concept-driven software. It arrived without much fanfare, one of many experiments in interactive entertainment before genres became firmly established.

You control a lone warrior facing a series of monstrous opponents, selecting your action and your target each turn in a simple menu. The main objective is to defeat each enemy in sequence through a combination of weapon strikes and defensive moves, though the outcomes often feel arbitrary. Signature mechanics include picking your weapon for each attack—sword, axe, or dagger—and choosing which body part to strike, though these decisions rarely produce predictable results. The pacing is abrupt, and the difficulty stems less from strategy and more from bewildering randomness. It feels like placing a bet rather than executing a plan.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
