Game Overview

Slordax: The Unknown Enemy came out in 1991 from Starbyte Software, one of those MS-DOS titles that didn't get a lot of attention but had its own quiet following. It was a time when action-adventure games were often built on exploration and tension, and this one fit right in with that moody, exploratory style without trying to reinvent the wheel.

You control a lone space marine navigating a derelict alien vessel, clearing rooms screen by screen with a mix of cautious movement and quick shooting. The goal is straightforward: find your way through the maze-like ship, eliminate hostile creatures, and survive long enough to uncover what happened. Key mechanics include managing limited ammunition, unlocking doors with keycards found scattered about, and reacting to enemies that often ambush from off-screen. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense, with a difficulty that punishes carelessness but rewards patience. It feels like a slow, methodical hunt where every corner turned could be your last.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
