Game Overview

Circuit's Edge is this weird, cool hybrid of text adventure and RPG from the late '80s—you play as Marid, a streetwise detective in a cyberpunk-ish Middle Eastern city that feels like New Orleans got dumped into Blade Runner. The interface splits between descriptive text, a small graphic of your location, and menus for stats and gear. At first you're just running shady errands for your buddy Saied, but then bam—you're framed for murder, and suddenly your rich uncle's pulling strings to get you off the hook... as long as you investigate the real killer.

What I love is how grimy the world feels—every alleyway and club has this sweaty, neon-soaked atmosphere. The writing nails that noir tone, and the RPG elements (upgrading cyberware, managing money) give just enough crunch without slowing down the story. Some of the puzzles are brutal by modern standards, but stumbling through the Budayeen's underworld never gets old.

It's one of those games where you can almost smell the cheap synth-liquor and burnt circuitry.
