Game Overview

Twisted Edge is one of those N64 snowboarding games that somehow nails the feeling of speeding downhill while still being totally arcade-y. You pick from a handful of riders (some weirder than others) and boards that actually handle differently—like, the heavy one plows through powder better but turns like a truck. The tracks are full of ridiculous jumps and hidden shortcuts, and pulling off tricks feels just loose enough to be fun without being punishing.

What I love is how the practice mode lets you race against your own ghost time—nothing more motivating than seeing your past self barely edge you out. And if you dig around, there are mirrored tracks and unlockable characters that change up the vibe. Two-player split-screen races get hilariously chaotic when someone discovers a secret ramp at the last second. It’s not the most realistic snowboarding sim, but it’s got this weird charm where you’ll take one more run just to nail that backflip over the half-buried cabin.
