Game Overview

Circus Quest was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games release, a collection that brought together various titles from the platform's early years. Developed by John C. H. Kim and published as shareware, it fits right into that era of experimental, often quirky games made by small teams or individuals. You won't find elaborate cutscenes or orchestral scores here; it's a product of its time, straightforward and unpretentious.

You control a clown tasked with rescuing fellow performers who have been scattered across the circus grounds. Movement is screen by screen; you jump on trampolines to reach higher platforms, get launched from cannons to cross wide gaps, and avoid obstacles like rolling barrels and mischievous animals. The main goal is to find all your captured friends before your lives run out. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving, with precise timing needed for many jumps and landings. It feels silly and unpredictable in a way that makes even failure amusing.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
