Cosmic Soldier: Psychic War came out in 1986 for MS-DOS, developed by Kogado Studio. It was one of those early PC titles that blended sci-fi and fantasy, a mix that felt fresh at the time, even if the hardware limited how much it could show. You control a psychic soldier recruiting allies across a besieged city, engaging in menu-driven conversations to build your team. The main goal is to strengthen your forces and push back an alien invasion through turn-based combat that relies heavily on psychic attacks; success often depends on managing your limited energy points and hoping your commands connect. Exploration is screen by screen, with a focus on tactical positioning and resource conservation over speed. It moves deliberately, sometimes frustratingly so, with difficulty spikes that demand careful planning. Playing it feels like walking a tightrope where every decision carries weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
