Play Cyber Marine Online

Piloting a sluggish sub through neon trenches, dodging mines and swarms of drone jellyfish—those torpedo hits feel so good when the screen shakes. Synth soundtrack nails that VHS sci-fi vibe.

Game Overview

Cyber Marine is one of those MS-DOS games from the early 90s that feels like it was pulled straight from a forgotten shareware bundle. I don't recall the developer offhand, but it fits right in with that era's experimental, often punishing, side-scrolling shooters. You pilot a bulky submarine through a series of underwater and industrial tunnels, all rendered in that chunky, colorful EGA or VGA style that defined so many PC games before Windows took over.

You control the sub with a mix of careful thrust and braking, navigating tight corridors filled with enemy drones, mines, and occasional larger bosses. The main goal is simply survival, moving from one screen to the next while managing limited torpedoes and a health bar that depletes quickly. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups to upgrade your weapons, using a limited-use sonar pulse to reveal hidden passages, and memorizing enemy patterns because mistakes are costly. The pacing is slow and deliberate, almost methodical, which makes every narrow dodge and well-placed shot feel earned. It’s a tense, sometimes frustrating game that rewards patience and precision over reflexes.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
