Game Overview

Death Rally is this wild, chaotic top-down racer where your car comes with guns—because why just race when you can also blow people up? You start off with a sad little Beetle knockoff called the Vagabond and barely any cash, but after a few races (and maybe some reckless driving through bonus cash pickups), you can upgrade to something that doesn’t feel like a tin can on wheels.

The races are pure mayhem—other drivers will shoot at you, mines litter the track, and sometimes you just gotta ram someone into a wall to get ahead. There’s an option to turn off weapons if you’re feeling civilized, but where’s the fun in that? Eventually, you’ll take on the Adversary, this untouchable boss who’s basically the final boss of reckless driving. Took me way too many tries to beat him, but man, that payoff felt good.

It’s got that classic ‘90s Apogee vibe—simple, fast, and way more addictive than it has any right to be. Just don’t get too attached to your first car.
