Game Overview

Digimon World DS is basically like a JRPG but with all the little monster-raising fun of the Digimon universe. You start off with a rookie Digimon (I went with Agumon because, well, classic) and quickly realize this isn’t just about battles—you’ve got to feed them, train them, and even scold them when they act up. The Digi-farm is where they hang out when you’re not dungeon crawling, and honestly, half the time I just messed around there watching them evolve into weird new forms.

Battles feel like old-school Dragon Quest, with turn-based fights against wild Digimon popping up randomly as you explore. The quests are simple at first—fetch this, fight that—but they slowly pull you into the bigger story. And yeah, the Wi-Fi trading and battling was cool back in the day, though good luck finding someone online now. Still, it’s a solid DS RPG if you’re into raising monsters and don’t mind grinding a bit for those sweet evolutions.
