Game Overview

I remember picking up Dino Hunt as a shareware title back in 1993, part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection from WizardWorks. It was one of those straightforward, no-frills action games that felt right at home on a 486, the kind of thing you’d load up after school when you just wanted something loud and immediate. The graphics were blocky, the sound effects tinny, but it had a certain charm in its simplicity.

You control a hunter armed with a rifle, moving screen by screen through a top-down jungle filled with dinosaurs. Your goal is simple: survive each area by shooting every dino that charges at you, then move on to the next. The mechanics are basic but tense; you have limited ammo, and missing a shot means taking damage from surprisingly persistent pixel reptiles. The pacing is relentless, with creatures swarming from all sides almost immediately. It feels chaotic and unforgiving, a test of reflexes more than strategy. Playing it now, it’s a jolt of pure, uncomplicated adrenaline.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
