Game Overview

I first played Dizzy: The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure back in the late 80s on MS-DOS, a game released by Codemasters in 1988. It was one of those side-scrolling platformers that felt right at home among the pixelated adventures of the era, with a cheerful look that didn't try to be anything more than a straightforward, charming quest.

You control Dizzy, an egg-shaped hero who rolls and bounces through screen-by-screen environments, picking up objects one at a time and often juggling them to solve puzzles. Your main goal is to rescue your girlfriend Daisy by exploring forests, caves, and castles, all while avoiding enemies like swooping birds and tricky environmental hazards. The game requires careful inventory management; you might drop a key to grab a bucket, only to realize you still need that key moments later. It's not an easy game, with precise jumps and some unforgiving enemy patterns, but there's a real satisfaction in slowly piecing together the solutions. Playing it feels like a mix of lighthearted fun and genuine challenge, wrapped in a simple, memorable world.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
