Game Overview

Doom: The Roguelike came out in 2002 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Kornel Kisielewicz. It arrived at a time when many players were revisiting or discovering older PC titles, and it offered a completely different take on the familiar Doom universe. Instead of fast-paced action, it reimagined the setting as a methodical, turn-based dungeon crawl.

You control a lone marine navigating through maze-like levels, clearing rooms of demons one turn at a time. Your goal is to fight your way to the exit on each floor, descending deeper into the infernal complex. The game emphasizes careful resource management; every bullet matters, and you often rely on melee weapons to conserve ammo. Levels are procedurally generated, so no two runs play out the same way. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty that punishes careless moves. It feels like a tense game of survival where every decision carries weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
