EGA Trek came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, a time when many players were exploring space from their keyboards. It was developed by John P. Silveira and published by Softdisk Publishing, fitting right in with the text-heavy, strategy-focused titles of the era.
You command a starship in a deceptively simple 8x8 galaxy, where you dodge Mongol ambushes, ration torpedoes, and pray life support holds while you hunt down every last enemy. The game relies on screen by screen exploration, resource management, and tactical combat decisions, often feeling tense and unforgiving. That scanner will haunt your dreams.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
