Game Overview

Star Trek: First Contact is one of those old-school text adventures where you type commands like "go east" or "use tricorder" and hope the parser actually understands you. It's pure 1988 MS-DOS—no graphics, just your imagination and a whole lot of typing. You play as the Enterprise crew trying to, well, make first contact (shocker), but half the challenge is figuring out what weird verb combo the game wants you to use next.

I remember getting stuck for ages because I didn’t realize I had to "examine panel" before "push blue button." Classic text adventure logic. If you’re into that retro vibe and don’t mind wrestling with a parser that sometimes feels like talking to a very literal Vulcan, it’s a neat little time capsule of early Trek games.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
