F1 ROC II: Race of Champions on SNES is one of those racing games that starts humble but slowly pulls you into its world. You begin in Group C with clunky cars and rookie drivers—honestly, the first few races feel like wrestling a shopping cart. But once you claw your way up to F-3000, the cars actually respond when you turn, and the AI doesn’t just politely let you pass.

The real meat is the F1 Grand Prix, where you’re suddenly dealing with 16 tracks, pit stops, and cars that punish you for sloppy driving. Mess up a turn? Congrats, you’re now a billboard. The customization is weirdly addictive too—spend prize money on upgrades, but good luck finding the right balance. I once built a car that cornered like a dream but got dusted on straights by what looked like a golf cart.

It’s got all the 1992 season cars (Williams, McLaren, etc.), and the tracks twist enough to keep you awake. Just don’t forget to save—those battery backups were a lifesaver back in the day.
