Game Overview

Fatal Racing, also known as Whiplash in some regions, came out in 1995 for MS-DOS as part of the Classic Games series, developed by Gremlin Interactive. It arrived during a period when racing games were experimenting with 3D environments and unconventional track designs, pushing the limits of what home computers could handle at the time.

You control a futuristic vehicle on twisting, gravity-defying tracks filled with loops, corkscrews, and perilous jumps. The main objective is to finish each race ahead of aggressive AI opponents, each with distinct names and driving styles. Signature mechanics include collecting power-ups like shields and turbo boosts, managing your car's health as you take damage from collisions and weapons, and navigating multi-tiered courses that require precise timing. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, especially when competing against opponents who show no mercy. It feels like barely surviving a chaotic demolition derby on a rollercoaster built by mad scientists.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
