Game Overview

Fate/Extra CCC came out in 2013 for the PlayStation Portable, developed by Imageepoch and published by Marvelous Entertainment. It was a time when the PSP still had a strong library of niche Japanese games, and this one expanded on the original Fate/Extra with a darker, more character-driven side story set in the same virtual arena.

You control a student trapped in the Moon Cell, accompanied by your Servant, and your goal is to survive a corrupted digital world by fighting through dungeons and making critical dialogue choices. The game uses a turn-based rock-paper-scissors combat system where predicting enemy attacks is key, and you explore maze-like environments screen by screen, interacting with characters whose loyalty can shift based on your responses. The pacing is deliberate, with a fair amount of backtracking and resource management, and the difficulty can spike during boss encounters. Playing it feels like threading a narrow path where every conversation could unravel your progress.
