Final Fantasy VII (China) (Unl) [En by Xaronyr EnCardier v0.97] Game

An impressive 'De-Make' of Final Fantasy VII for the NES, originally Chinese but translated to English here. It has some issues with Engrish, mostly stemming from the differences in the structure of Chinese and English, but it is no worse than other games of the time. In fact, I could see this one released right along side FF I and II at the time. As for the games itself: it is not great. Aside from the technically impressive programming it is long, dull, and enemies are way too strong, taking many attacks where only a few would've been needed in the original PS1 version. Another problem is that a lot of emulators choke due to it's large size and odd programming. BizHawk's NESHawk core works as of May 26, 2015, but others may or may not work. All in all, this is an impressive feat of software engineering, but not all that fun to actually play.
