Flintstones Rescue of Dino & Hoppy came out on the NES in 1991, published by Taito. It was one of those licensed games from the era that tried to capture the cartoon's vibe with side scrolling action and a few vehicle stages. You play as Fred, of course, and the goal is to rescue Dino and Hoppy from some kidnappers, moving through a mix of prehistoric and modern settings.

You control Fred through a series of side scrolling levels, punching enemies and breaking rocks to find items like bones and gems. There are also driving sections where you steer the Flintmobile, avoiding obstacles and sometimes picking up passengers. The game can feel a bit clunky, with some awkward jumps and hit detection, but it has a certain charm when you get into the flow of smashing everything in sight. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes frustrating, but oddly earnest attempt to turn the show into a playable adventure.
