Flower Sun and Rain is one of those weird, slow-burn detective games where you spend as much time talking to oddball island residents as you do solving the actual murder case. The whole thing feels like a surreal vacation gone wrong—you're stuck on this resort island with a suitcase full of bizarre gadgets, and everyone has something to hide.

At first, I thought the puzzles were just quirky, but some of them get seriously devious (that clock tower one had me stuck for days). The writing’s got this dry, almost deadpan humor, and the characters—from the perpetually stressed hotel manager to the guy who only speaks in riddles—make the whole place feel alive in a slightly off-kilter way.

It’s not for everyone—if you want fast-paced action, look elsewhere. But if you like piecing together mysteries while soaking in strange little details (why does that parrot keep giving you side-eye?), it’s a trip worth taking.
